OECD Responsible Business Management and EU Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Webinar

“OECD Responsible Business Management and EU Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence” webinar was held on October 11, in cooperation with TÜSİAD and Chapter Zero Turkey. The guest speaker of the event was Winand Quaedvlieg, Director of the EU Representation-Brussels Office of VNO-NCW (Confederation of Dutch Industry and Employers), Permanent Delegate of BusinessEurope and Chairman of the Responsible Business Management Committee of Business at OECD (BIAC). The opening speech of the event was made by Cevdet Alemdar, Member of the Board of Directors of TÜSİAD, Chairman of the Energy, Environment and Climate Change Round Table and Chairman of the Chapter Zero Turkey Executive Committee.
Hosted by TÜSİAD, in the strategic partnership of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the Association of Board Members and with the content support of Deloitte, supporting climate governance at the board of directors and senior management level in Turkey and discussing the issue of climate change in the boards of directors Chapter Zero Turkey, which was established with the aim of making it a priority, held its first event in cooperation with TÜSİAD.
The opening speech of the online event “OECD Responsible Business Management and EU Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence” was made by TÜSİAD Board Member, Energy, Environment and Climate Change Round Table Chairman and Chapter Zero Turkey Executive Committee Chairman, Cevdet Alemdar. Alemdar said the following in his speech:
Today, companies have responsibilities beyond profit maximization. Businesses today must proactively address the important issues facing our society and our planet. The concept of corporate sustainability encourages companies to consider social, environmental and economic factors in their business strategies and daily operations. As Chapter Zero Turkey and TÜSİAD, we will continue our work by focusing on this issue in the coming period.
